I served under MacArthur and General George Kenney in Port Moresby, Morotai, Philippines, and Japan. I was a radio operator with the 1015th Signal Company Aviation in the Fifth Air Force. I reached a code speed of 30 wpm. A Friend said, when we met at Clark field, "Clyde is the only person he knows that can eat an apple, carry on a conversation, and send morse code a the same time".
